On loan from the Museum of Leonardo da Vinci in Florence, Italy, the collection contains over 60 handcrafted inventions from Leonardo's original 500-year-old designs. The machines are the result of the life's work of three generations of Florentine artists who painstakingly brought to life the major and most striking concepts and creations devised by da Vinci's brilliant mind. Exhibits include war machines, flying machines, nautical and hydraulic machines as wall as devices illustrating the principles of mechanics. Specifically these exhibits include the precursor to the helicopter, the air screw, as well as the spring powered car and, for the first time ever in the U.S., da Vinci's legendary robotic lion and the secrets behind it.
