Once upon a time, roller skating was a wholesome, weekly activity that involved girls and boys skating around in large groups until one from each party was nominated to shyly hold the other’s hand for one full song. Well, that was then and this is now, and skating nowadays means watching out for the elbows and knock-down, drag-out moves of the OC Roller Girls Roller Derby. With the league’s 7th season already on a roll, the OC Roller Girls are serving up their next dose of pure derby action, not from concentrate, with a bout featuring OC Roller Girls’ Pulp Friction up against the West Coast Derby Knockouts. The girls will go at it on a fast flat track that will require plenty of tricking maneuvering and seriously speedy skating to conquer. In addition to the main event, there will also be eats available for purchase from Dogzilla and The Lime Truck and a performance from a local band.
