Get ready to shuck and suck at the 12th annual O'Reilly's Oysterfest on May 14 at the Great Meadow at Fort Mason. This year's event focuses on the pairing of oysters and stout featuring oysters from Drake's Bay Oyster Farm and smooth, creamy Guinness. In addition to the good eats and refreshing beverages, the event also features performances by Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Guster, Pepper, Tea Leaf Green and The Silent Comedy. If that's not enough reasons to come out, the event will also benefit Team in Training as part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. In between the eating and the drinking the festival offers cooking demonstrations, a shuck and suck competition, an oyster history expo, play area for the kids, an oyster pairing room and a live performance from The Whelan Academy of Irish Dancing. The musical entertainment kicks off at noon with The Silent Comedy followed by Tea Leaf Green and Pepper. Guster will go on at 4:00 pm and Rodrigo y Gabriela will close out the evening at 5:30 pm. If the entertainment is your style but the Guinness and oysters are not, a variety of other beverages will be available from beer and wine to cocktails and premium spirits as well as alternative choices of cuisine. The festival staff asks that you pay special attention to recycling and compost bins throughout the event as almost every product at the festival will be recycled, recyclable or compostable.

The event gates open at 11:00 am and the evening will conclude at 7:30 pm. All ages are welcome and kids under 14 will be admitted for free, though an adult must accompany all minors. Come add to the over half a million and counting oysters consumed over the years while doing some good at the 12th annual O'Reilly's Oysterfest.
