Serving up some of the best tamales since 1984, this family-owned restaurant was founded as a neighborhood joint where residents could chow down on tasty food in a casual, comfortable atmosphere. Though they started with a menu limited to their specialty, La Popular Tamale House has expanded its arsenal to include scrumptious breakfast tacos ($2.00), burritos ($5.75), quesadillas ($6.00) and chips and chili con queso ($3.00). Of course, there are plenty of enchiladas ranging from pork, pork jalapeno, chicken, beef, veggie and bean with jalapeno. The menu gets even bigger on the weekend with options like carnitas, barbacoa and more.
