The first drive-in movie theater was constructed in Camden, New Jersey and opened in 1933 after Richard M. Hollingshead, Jr. experimented with speakers, a projector and a screen nailed to the trees in his backyard. The drive-in reached its peak in the late 1950s and early 1960s before being largely lost to large indoor theater complexes. However, the midwest has been able to hang on to its ties to the original drive-in movement with The Skyview Drive-In. Offering a nostalgic experience with a few modern updates, The Skyview Drive-In is the most unique way to see today's latest movies and the timeless classics. Experience one of the last drive-in movie theaters with today's deal of two adult admission tickets to any film, regularly $20, for just $10.

Opened on July 8, 1949, The Skyview Drive-In remains very much the same as those early days. Though the original structure has been updated and another screen added to allow for two main features, the family-oriented feel remains the same. The biggest update to The Skyview Drive-In was the removal of the speakers in 2000 in favor of a system that allows movie goers to hear the films through any FM receiver including the car radio, a portable radio and even some MP3 players. In addition to the two enormous screens and updated sound system, The Skyview Drive-In also features a playground and concession stand that offers everything from the usual movie snacks of popcorn and candy to juicy burgers. Current films on the schedule include Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Mr. Popper's Penguins, Captain America: The First Avenger as well as Cowboys and Aliens.
