The world's first canned beer was manufactured right here in the U.S.A. on January 24, 1935, and if you've been snubbing true American beer in favor of bottled craft favorites, it's time to get back to our country's roots with the 2012 AmeriCAN Canned Craft Beer Festival on Saturday, May 19. Kick off the Memorial Day celebrations early with today's deal of an all-access VIP ticket to the canned craft beer fest, a $100 value, for just $50.

At the heart of this second annual booze-fueled event are 40 different brewing companies including the presenting sponsor SanTan Brewing alongside other favorites like Abita Brewing, Blue Moon Brewing, Minott's Black Star, New Belgium Brewing and Nola Brewing. Between the various brewers there will be over 150 local and national beers needing tasting and your VIP ticket will get you a custom 4 oz. tasting can and 20 samples from the participating breweries, one-hour early entry, a VIP lanyard to get you into the exclusive VIP beer garden with unlimited catered foods, private bathrooms and the opportunity to meet some of the brewers. In addition to the suds, the event will also feature live music from Reel Big Fish, 2 Tone Lizard Kings and a variety of local acts as well as craft food, beer Olympics and a craft can award ceremony.
