Our History & Mission
Established in 1967, named the Museum of Biblical Art in 1999, the MBA has a simple mission: display art with a Biblical theme. Nothing of its size exists in the United States, making it a treasure trove for art enthusiasts.
Ancient to Modern!
From ancient coins to Warhol illustrations, the Museum of Biblical Art hosts various styles of Biblical art and is the industry leader in art restoration. Bronze sculpture installations, drawings, fine prints and oil paintings are all represented. Along with the MBA's permanent displays, they are the venue of choice for some of the country's most important traveling exhibits. For example...
Temptation: Industrial Foods as Symbols for the Metaphysical by Juan Carlos del Valle
In cooperation with the Mexican Consulate and the Mexico Institute at the University of Texas at Dallas, a new exhibition of paintings created by critically acclaimed artist Juan Carlos del Valle of Mexico City is featured at the MBA. In his paintings, industrial foods have been artistically interpreted onto canvas, in order to explore the concept that food can be a symbol for the metaphysical and the spiritual world. Exhibit extended through June 2014.
Victor Bregada, Paintings
Russian-U.S. artist Victor Bregeda was born in 1963 in the city of Taganrog into a family of painters. After graduating from an art university in Moscow, he made a decision to go along with his own personal comprehension of what creative art was really all about. Bregeda states "My artistic abilities are in my blood, in a strong creative environment." His key directions are working with Plein Aire Landscapes, still lifes and portraits, performed in a meta-realistic style with a strong influence of subconscious philosophy. Exhibit is ongoing through June 2014.
George Toboloskwy: Discover the Menorah
George Tobolowsky is a ‘found object’ sculptor, composing his pieces from discarded items and turning them into his own unique works of welded-steel art. Titles of his monumental work include: “The War Menorah” created from an actual bombshell representing conflict in Israel, “The Maccabean Warrior” illustrating the struggle in the events of Hanukkah and The Flame” representing the fire of the Hanukkah candles. This exhibit is ongoing through Summer 2014.
